Did you know Saturday February 22nd 2020 is National Margarita Day? Personally I love all things Mexican food and drink related. guacamole, nachos, burritos, tacos, the list goes on...and with ever single one of those dishes I need an accompaniment of either a Corona, or my personal favorite.. a margarita!
However I find margaritas to be so high in calories 🤦♀️ which is a total bummer if you are thinking about bikini weather 🏖. So I have come up with a different version that I find even more enjoyable, (honestly some margaritas are just way to sweet anyway), this version is much more palatable. I'm not sure if its lighter in calories, but its a more natural sugar, so I feel like it might be better? 🤷♀️
So here is my go to, not too sweet, feels like summer, Margarita recipe. Perfect for National Margarita Day or any other day your craving a little lime and tequila 🍹
The Perfect Margarita
2oz tequila of your choice (I like Patron)
1 teaspoon of agave nectar (or to your taste)
the juice of 1 lime
a lowball filled with ice (crushed ice is the best!)
Fill a cocktail shakers with some ice, the tequila, agave, and lime juice. Shake well for 15-20 seconds. Strain into you lowball filled with crushed ice. Enjoy!
That's it folks, super easy, super delicious, and not as bad for you as simple syrup (according to some folks on the internet, and I chose to believe them 😂😬 but you don't have to) 😉
Please enjoy responsibly.
